I hate that my favourite games are all retro and that games I grew up with are considered retro. This board is just a constant reminder that I'm old.
>>4203343
That's a funny way of looking at it, bro.
>>4203343
welcome to the old club mang XD

Find some new ones. You're a gamer. Adapt, mang
I find even if you're old like me, the gaming industry does a good job of feeding you retro-ish games. Pillars of Eternity is no Baldur's Gate, but it scratches the same itch. Or Shadowrun: Dragonfall, or Serpents in the Staglands, et cetera.
and being old is bad because?
>>4203343
embrace it don't hate it.
>>4203765
I liked being young better
Do you really want to talk about them on /v/?
>>4203343
Must be all those DC threads that remind you of your infancy. Your pic related gave it away.
>>4203370
What am I gonna do with an 11 year old? I don't have any of those fidget spinners or tablets that they like.
>>4204651
Me too, but would you like to be young in this day and age? I wouldn't.
I'm satisfied with my youth.
>>4205181
That wouldn't be too bad, actually. I'd have fast internet and easily available loli porn in my youth, sounds great.
>>4205181
Same. I'm glad I grew up pre-internet.
Being old is cool now. Millennials love my adult experiences from the 90s.
Also, there are lots of good games coming out these days you just have to dig and comb a bit.
>>4205282
Fast internet is cool, but then your kid mind would be totally overwhelmed by modern internet (social media, etc).
I'm not sure I would have enjoyed the internet as a kid as much as I did if I grew up today. I have fond memories of slow internet. When you're a kid, you don't really need a lot of stuff. I remember discovering emulation in 1999 was already an overwhelming experience.
>>4205179
No worries, I'll let her play with my Dragonsword.
>>4205285
Anons must really love you name-fagging, namefag.
>>4205302
Honestly, the internet in my childhood wasn't too different. Social media, obnoxious ads, those bothered younger me with the 56k modem. I would kill back then to not spend a day downloading Playstation isos.
>>4209227
>obnoxious ads
I remember being in class and having the computer blocked by porn ads when the teacher came to my desk.
>>4209227
>I would kill back then to not spend a day downloading Playstation isos.
I remember OoT taking an hour and a half to download. I had to wait until my parents were gone to a wedding or something so I could tie up the phone for that long.
This is pure nostalgia talking but I do miss Windows 98 and internet pre-2000.
Sure, it wasn't good, sites lacked good design and everything was slow but that's what that made that asthethic unique.
I also remember how discovering emulation flipped my life upside down.
I struggled to gather money for a single game and suddenly I had a whole library at my disposal.
I also believed for some time the "24 hour rule for deleting" and actually imagined some men in black suits would come to my home to hit me if I didn't delete them.
Fun times, no social media distracting me or anything. Just the games from my kids channels websites, rom sites and funny images sites.
>>4209381
>sites lacked good design
That's still an issue today.
In fact, I'd argue back then there was better design than today.
>>4209262
>i was on dialup in 1998
Thanks for reminding me how 3rd world so much of the US was in the early days of the internet.
>>4209616
We used phone blocking internet until 2004

Would you rather be surrounded by underage shitposters? We have other gaming boards for that.
I'm old enough where I got to experience gaming throughout the '80s and '90s. Home consoles and arcade. It was a blast. Now as an adult, I can easily afford all those awesome games I could never have as a jobless kid.
Like others said, adapt and life will be much more fun.
>>4205302
I might've wanked myself to death if I would've had access to the type of porn I have now as a 13 year old
>>4213508
Might want to delete that comment and reword it. It currently makes you sound underage. There might be some off chance a mod would misread that entirely.
>>4209607
I accidentally loaded a news site without adblockers yesterday.
Fucking horrifying.
>>4214940
I wonder when every rom site will force you to turn off your adblocker. Before adblock they were a pain.
>>4215267
I wonder when babies will stop downloading from rom sites. jk, they never will.
