Does anyone know what would happen if you used the overflow glitch on Ultimate Weapon while he's not over Cosmo Canyon?
He'd fly away.

What OP is saying isn't the same as reducing his HP to zero, though. The overflow bug forces a death animation, and would (probably) prevent him from retreating from the battle.
That being said, if I had to assume what would happen, I'd say it would show him "dying" in-battle, then he'd fly off to Cosmo Canyon. Whether or not you would gain EXP / Gil / items, I have no idea. Kind of an interesting question.

I don't see this changing anything. What happens in the battle engine and what happens in the rest of the game engine are not related. After the battle ends, why wouldn't he just fly away as usual?
