So how does /vr/ feel about projection HDTV's when it comes to running old consoles? I have a 65" Samsung projection TV (unknown model # ATM) that I've played my N64 on, and holy shit the upscaling ruins the experience, but I didn't notice any lag.

I've got a RPTV, a grand WEGA to be precise. It's nice for watching HD shit on but anything SD looks fucking horrible on it. If you don't have a CRT then just got on craigslist/kijiji/gumtree and find the first decent one you can and get it. From there you keep an eye out and upgrade when you can, just don't start hoarding.
