What was the first 2D platform game to implement sloping surfaces (or inclines)?
Was it Strider (arcade)?
Also, what was the first game to implement sloping surfaces on a home console system or personal computer?

To clarify:
>Also, what was the first 2D platform game to implement sloping surfaces on a home console system or personal computer?

First game I can think of is marble madness, but don't know about platformers. Didn't Mario 3 have slopes?
Ghouls n ghosts came out a year before and also had inclines.

uh... donkey kong?
Xanadu 2 had slopes in 86.

First I recall was jungle hunt. Maybe there's some particularly autistic definition of "2D platform game" or "implement sloping surfaces" that excludes it?
>>4191181
That's true. Donkey Kong did have slopes.

Mario 3 did. Then Mario Maker removed them. Truly we live in an era.
>>4192308
>Then Mario Maker removed them
Any real reason? did it cause the physics to go all fucky?
>>4192324
>Any real reason
They don't want their game to be complete so they can resell an enhanced version later. They did include anime girls from a porn game and toyota so you see where modern Nintendo's priorities lay.

I doubt they're going to release an enhanced version, considering the Wii U is dead and buried. They could do a Switch version, but the fact that you can't use the touch screen when it's docked would make that a portable mode only game for most people, which is something I think Nintendo wants to avoid.

>I doubt they're going to release an enhanced version
Then you're stupid because they literally already did. Not that it included slopes. Nintendo doesn't need a reason. It's minimum effort not to and they already did it with MK8 and Splatoon and I'm probably forgetting a lot of remakes here.

What, the 3DS release? That's hardly "enhanced". You can't even share your levels online. It might be a crappy cashgrab, but it's not the reason they didn't include slopes.
>>4192361
>that's hardly
Exactly my point. You're slow on the uptake. I assume you're a frequent buyer of Neo Nintendo products. So you're not a real adult in my books.
