DoC reveals that Chaos is actually a WEAPON that's somehow related to Omega Weapon. Omega Weapon is the ultimate Weapon that acts as a fancy spaceship. When things get really bad, it kills all life on the planet, sucks out the lifestream and carries it to another planet to start anew. I admit I hate Genesis for most of the game, it's a stupid cliche crybaby villain.

BUT I find it very interesting story and lore wise that the Planet cures and refuses to allow him to die and make him the final Weapon for the Planet. In terms in story for a FF7 direct sequel having a Weapon on Cloud's team could make for very interesting story. I don't think we'll ever see a direct sequel anymore and last I heard Gackt was holding his likeness random.

I think a lot of people generally miss the point of FF7. I've seen people talk about Bugenhagen and how humans don't deserve to live, when really his point is that there's nothing we could do about it either way, so we should just live as best as we can. That's why he's laughing when he says it. Also it totally forgets that humans are part of the planet as well.

Genesis is the last Weapon, Vincent destroys Chaos in the end of DoC.

Here, Genesis dies from his illness at the end of CC and goes into the Lifestream where he meets Minerva (the Planet's physical form whatever). He excepts his death but the Planet turns him away, heals him and brings him back to life and entrusts him to protect the planet.

Video games are on the same level as comics in terms of stories, i.e., batshit retarded. It's because they have a plethora of different authors each trying to "leave their mark" and no one having proper focus or a centralized goal or theme they're trying to write for. I disagree. While Dirge had a lot of problems, continuity with FF7 wasn't one of them. Everything about it fit in the lore perfectly. First, we know that the Planet spawns Weapons when it's in danger (Emerald, Diamond, Ruby, Sapphire and Ultimate) so that's not new. We also know per Sephiroth's plot that if a catastrophe is TOO big that the Planet itself is going to be wiped out, that all the Lifestream collects at a focal point, which was the cornerstone of his reasoning in summoning Meteor. So he could be there to absorb it and become a God himself. It makes sense then that if terminal damage is done to the Planet that a device like Omega Weapon (perfectly named too) would be used to transport the Lifestream away. Chaos Weapon being used to hasten the process and destroy life to return to the Lifestream also makes sense. And the fact that Hojo's research dealt with Ancients, the Lifestream and the Promised Land fits with Vincent getting imbued with Chaos rather than just being some random monster.

CC would be so much better if it focused more on the relationship between Cloud, Zack, and Sephiroth because that was handled really well. Unfortunately it decides these random yahoos no one cares about are more important and shoves them in our face 24/7. Between CC and XV, I think Tabata is good at doing close relationships between friends but can't handle larger stories at all.

When they make sequels to what should be stand alone games though that is when things really start fucking up. They need to stop this or at the very least say it is a separate canon from the main games. An alternate story or history basically. Kind of like how the DBZ movies were never canon to the main anime/manga even though they borrowed a lot of elements from it.

I liked FFX-2 and TAY and I loved the XIII sequels. They all built upon things that were mentioned in their original story and that's how all sequels should be. FFX-2's ancient machina, TAY's second moon and XIII's absent gods. CC and AC just inject things into the original canon to make up a plot. I think what upsets people about the Compilation's original characters is that they're all too important to just have been out of focus/not hinted at entirely in the original game so it feels like a total retcon. While Baralai you can imagine was just a regular guy in FFX.

FFVI has a lot of prequel/sequel potential. I don't know why SE always ignores it.

I thought Vincent's LBs were good because they were a lot stronger when you first got them but fell off when you started to get things like Ungarmax and Omnislash. Basically, they get bad due to the small number of hits and damage cap, but before you're approaching it, it's still pretty useful.

I think the pre-FFX Final Fantasies would've benefited either from a stat squish or a raise in the damage/healing cap. It seems like a lot of players hit the cap sometime just around the start of the endgame and it throws everything else.

One time me and my brothers got completely stuck on the boss battle on the train with a timer. Vincent had his level 2 or 3 limit break active, the other two party members died. There was nothing we could do except let Vincent do his thing. He never did enough damage to the boss and Vincent kept healing himself so he never died. Just waited until the timer ran out.
