What are some retro games that make you feel uncomfortable /vr/?
>those dreamlike levels
>that "serene" music
>that fucking shark
>levels set in the sky
Parasite Eve 2. Dryfield has this weird unsettling atmosphere to it, particularly at night. Also, fuck those camel things.

I remember almost nothing about this game, except there was a crystal ball or something that kept breaking. Pissed me off.

This game scared the shit out of me as a kid for some reason
Jabba's palace on SWB2 spooked me good when I was younger. Something about the darkness and the instakill Gammoreans running around was terrifying to me.

He is right tho.
The Ps1 version is so unpolished and looks very very rough.
The soundtrack to this while wandering the corridors was some pretty unsettling shit

Flover unnerved me as a kid but I went back to it a year ago and had quite a bit of fun with it.
James Pond 2 on the SNES scares the shit out of me. At first it just seems like some goofy, funny shitty platformer, but then you get to the area with all the toys and bears and it's just
It's just fucking weird and creepy. Legitimately makes me way more uncomfortable than any horror game.
Heart of Darkness was horror for me as a child. The whole animation was just so good

Many 5th gen 3D games have that weird eerie feeling for a number of reasons.
>low draw distances creates a sense of unease of the unknown
>surreal skyboxes create a sense of awe of what else could be out there in the game's world.
>the compressed sound quality creates a weird unsettling feeling to the atmosphere.
5th gen is best gen.

Don't forget that droid torture room right next to the command post. Worst level in the game.

I get this feeling from so many original half life engine mod. Less now, but stuff like opposing force's xen, counter strike levels that no one played, and such like that always gave me an eerie, but comforting sensation.

This is easily the most uneasy game I've ever played. Even though everyone is a robot, you're basically playing as a bug that kills animals so it can possess their corpses.
