There's a heatwave occurring this week and I'm slightly sick. What are some stress-free and easy /vr/ that I can just relax with? Preferably short ones.
Try SoTN, it's fairly quick. Even more so if you go for the bad end.

>Sleep over at friend's house
>His cousin is there and has SotN, shows us it
>Lets me borrow it
>Come back a week or two later, load up my file in the Inverted Castle
>Cousin's mind is fucking blown
Fond memories.

>this girl down the street had a cool dad with a ps1
>showed us SoTN
>everyone took turns playing the prologue
>I didn't get to even touch it
>gives it to me the next day
>realize every part after the prologue is the best part
This game was seriously love at first sight. Hands down my favorite video game ever, even considering how the inverted castle felt.

Arc the Lad.
It's a short JRPG, has a unique battle system that is kind of similar to FFT, but simpler.
I found it relaxing in the same situation you were in, but in 2009.
Otherwise, I suppose something like Road Rash or Mario 3. Something you know well enough to breeze through but with challenge late game.
DK94, or it's modern equivalent Mario vs DK, or like Mario Bros arcade, Parasol Stars for PC-E.
Single Screen Arcade games can't go wrong

For some bizarre reason, you just reminded me:
Sim City.
I prefer the SNES version, but you know, any version will do nicely
Also
FROGS n FLIES
[some version of this exists on all pre-NES systems. I usually emulate it on Stella, which is an Atari emu]
you can try going to the beach with friends?

I already looked into it, $150 for a room per night and everything is sold out anyway. Last year when this happened the road over was bumper to bumper so not even going to try it this year. It would be possible just for the day otherwise, but it's going to be around 110 until Saturday so that's a long time to be gone anyway. And I have no AC.
