Ok boys, I need a list of the dankest most aesthetic 2d sci-fi games ever, preferably if there's some gore, preferably if it gets crazy with plot stuff, and preferably if it's action/adventure/visual novel/RPG
Japanese games also preferable unless you just know of some really cool US/EU shit i could check out
Thanks

sounds like you'd like the Snatcher/Policenauts series.
The Screamer (PC-98)
Moving Adventure Psy-O-Blade (Mega Drive)

If you are making vaporwave I swear I will hunt you down and kick you in the testes.
>>4140417
Nah i just want to play some dank ass fuck vaporwave
>>4140439
dank ass games* even
>>4140123
Rise of the Dragon, Dreamweb, B.A.T. 2, Bloodnet.
>>4140708
These look sick, thx
>>4140123
Every shadowrun. All got diff gameplay too.
Sega cd is anime though.
>>4140123
Debuggers (PC Engine) is very aesthetic.
>>4140123
Obviously Shin Megami Tensei 1-2.
>>4141031
What about the NES Megami Tensei, and GB Last Bible games? Are those sci-fi?
>>4141045
Not retro, but is Shin Megami Tensei 4 a good starting point for the series?
I always thought SMT would be a series I'd enjoy, but there are so many sequels and spinoffs I don't even know where to begin.
>>4141058
Soul Hackers is the best place to start.
>>4141045
Nes megami is cyberpunk. Based on the books.
Last bible has no demons and is medieval times for most last bible games. They mostly aimed for kids and everyone
>>4141045
Best way to play NES Megami Tensei is SNES compillation.
lol sounds like OP just wants to play these games so he can farm screenshots for his aesthetic tumblr

Nah i'm just legitimately trying to find a game that looks cool
Also notice that i didnt ask for only visual novel stuff and yet it's all i'm getting, lol which is fine
>>4141741
>i didnt ask for only visual novel stuff and yet it's all i'm getting
are you daft? you've been recommended SMT and Snatcher, neither of which are VNs.
>>4141786
Snatcher is a VN
>>4141789
it's primarily an adventure game.
it has a pretty limited degree of interaction, sure, but it's definitely not what most people mean by VN.
>>4141741
Point and click and VN have the aesthetics, specially for what you are asking.
The other options are cinematic games, like out of this world or prince of Persia, but those are extremely frustrating.
Now if you want true vaporwave try ecco the dolphin on Sega CD.
>>4141809
How do you define a VN?
>>4141809
Literally every retro VN played like Snatcher.
Doesn't have everything you're asking for, OP, but it is still a fun action sword-em-up with a definite cyberpunk setting.
>>4141891
Good enough for me, thanks

Shadowrun for Genesis and Super Nintendo
