I literally dropped out of high school to play THPS1 with my best friend all day (and got in trouble/put on probation after a couple months). Once the demo for THPS2 came out it almost happened to me again.

So yeah, great game.

Bad Religon are great though, as is the whole soundtrack. To be honest, the Tony Hawk games up to Underground have had a massive influence on my muisc taste.

Very fun but I preferred the later games because I liked doing vert tricks more than street skating.

This right here. His video was insane. I immediately tried doing all the freestyle/street tricks like casper slides and dark slides at home.

It blew my mind when you beat the game as Spiderman and unlocked his video, it was actually spiderman skateboarding, how awesome is that?

I'm so disappointed with Activision for fucking up THPS5. it was retarded on their part. all they needed to do was give it a decent budget and team, and they could have revitalised the franchise and made many more millions on it. fucking retarded, just shows laziness and a total lack of faith. that's definitely a huge opportunity they floundered for absolutely no reason.

Judging by the lanky frame and overall build / style, I'd always assumed it was Tony Hawk himself in the costume as a part of the licensing deal. Neversoft was probably there smoking weed, with some guy taking notes.

We made some heady parks. To get a real good build you'd have to make it pretty small though. I made some great ones and so did the others.

We'd make a lot of those exploitable sections where you can come down from a vert air onto a railing that's right on the same x axis as the lip of the ¼- / ½-pipe.

The downhill levels in the first game were my favorite. I was super disappointed when the second game didn't have any.

Trust me, it's amazing. While the GBC ports are absolute shovelware, the GBA versions are great, with THPS2 (the first for GBA) being the best by far. It's a few levels short of the full game, but more than makes up for it with an beautiful version of School II and Warehouse from the original.

I've collected all of the mobile ports from my local retro games shop. I play them almost daily (usually in the bathroom). There's something therapeutic about them, especially when I'm trying to solve a problem or I have something on my mind, just to dick around in free skate for 15 minutes.

That's a great approximation of School 2.
It's a shame about them losing the Opunsezmee rail/stairset, and the suicidal roof gap buildings, but I kinda wish the THPS2 map had that big ledge to bomb from.

I played the shit out of THPS2 and 3. THPS2 on GBA was just as good as the original except for the obvious fact that the GBA can't do the music.
