Relax, ladies. I'm asking because I'm scared to sell my more expensive carts on ebay for fear of this happening. I already got scammed by one guy as he filed "item not as described" even though it was. I offered him a full refund if he sends it back but he said no, and wanted a partial refund of 75%. Ebay sided with me so he escalated it to paypal, where paypal said okay if you send it back you get a full refund. He sent me an empty box and got his refund. I contacted paypal and they told me to contact the police. Ridiculous. I filmed my opening his empty box but for the $60, I don't think I'll take him to court.

The worst part is that when he bought the item he had me ship it to texas. He then shipped the empty box from mexico. Taking him to court, even if i wanted to, would be incredibly difficult.

I'm just worried about ebay overall now.

Another risk you run into is if the buyer you're trying to scam has been scammed before and now records their entire shipping process as a safety precaution which actually isn't an uncommon thing since ebay is very biased towards the buyer in most disputes.

Depends on the repro. Most of the time they're 100% the same because all it is is a simple ROM file. However, sometimes you run into really cheap repros that don't come with a save battery, and saving won't work in those.

I've sold hundreds of thing on ebay over the years including games and other collectibles ranging from $5 - $500 and have never gotten scammed once. Most people are pretty honest. If you can't afford to take a $50 hit, though, don't sell on eBay.
