I just beat Sweet Home for the first time and loved it any another NES/Famicom RPG's of similar quality? I've read good things about Lagrange Point and was thinking of trying that next
Seems like you answered your own question.

Don't. Lagrange is fucking horrendous, even the score is shit, despite the super sound chip.
radia senki, sansara naga, check out the ff and dq games if you haven't already, mother, madara, sugoro quest
none of them are horror though
>>4074218
Is it really that bad? It sounded like it had an interesting party system especially for a NES game
>>4074226
This guy has already named them, really.
Guess I'd recommend Mother most of all. FF and DQ are bonafide classics but are more antiquated than Sweet Home.
Sweet Home probably holds up best of the Famicom-era JRPGs so expect things to only go down from here. I have a really soft spot for the older Dragon Quests though.

Battles too long even for NES, encounter rate is sky-high, puny rewards, especially exp. Requires a shit-ton of grinding. I went into it waiting for a hidden gem, but it was a complete turborurd.

Seconding this guy. Radia, FF3, DQIV and Destiny of the Emperor are all runner-ups for best Famicom RPG, but Sweet Home is easily the top dog.

oh and maybe silva saga for the merc and idol system and switching between parties during combat
just breed for some srpg goodness

Well I went and tried Lagrange and it was a big pile of shit. Should have listened to you cause that was a complete list of waste of an hour. The exp rate is so atrocious.
Gonna give Radia Senki a shot, seems interesting
