The exact hierarchy of spells, summons and other things shifts around all the time in FF.

For example, this isn't /vr/ but Ifrit, of all things, is the villain of XV even though it's normally one of the most basic summons in the series.

To be more precise it's a guy who can transform into Ifrit but you'd expect like Odin or Bahamut for that kind of thing.

In FF15, the summons from the earlier games are the six gods of the world: Bahamut, Shiva, Ramuh, Titan, Leviathan and Ifrit. Ifrit turns evil and plagues the world with the Starscourge, something that turns people into Demons and makes the nights last longer and longer.

The principal villain is a guy named Ardyn who was supposed to stop Ifrit and the Starscourge thousands of years ago. It's a little complicated from there without a long indepth explanation, but long story short, he succeeded, was betrayed and angrily became a villain that then attempted to help Ifrit destroy the world.

iirc it depends on magic class and per game. Ultimate is the strongest black magic, Holy is the strongest white magic, Meteor is the strongest Time magic.
