Not in my opinion. I think shaders make everything look worse. But here's the wonderful thing about opinions, they're not all the same and we all get our own! If you do like the way shaders look then there are tons of options for you. Just figure out what you like and go with that. Simple and easy.

I prefer to play on a CRT but if I'm emulating I don't do anything fancier than light scanlines. Full CRT shades look tacky as fuck in my opinion.
