i think megaman x series from the snes are somehow easier to beat as you have more freedom in movement, it feels that whenever i die is because of my lack of skill, rather than blaming the engine as i usually think when i drop on earlier megaman versions

Hard mode is the Japanese original, more in line with the other versions of the game. Normal is actually more of an "easy mode" than anything else.

No, it's the other way around. There's no difficulty option in the Japanese release, you were simply given Rockman 2 and had to play it as it was.

The overseas release decided the game was too hard so they edited the game and gave it two modes. "Normal" mode is a streamlined and easier version of the game while "Hard" sets the game back to how it was as Rockman 2.

Even if you play on easy ("normal"), MM2 still isn't easier than 5 or 6.

I beat 2,4 and 5 on the actual system back when I had it. Never owned 1, 3 or 6 physically and haven't bothered to emulate them.

Emulated X, X2 and X3 on ZSNES and beat them with very little save-state use (only used them so I wouldn't have to enter passwords).

I've tried playing through almost every Megaman game (1-10) and I always give up due to lack of interest
They're great games but they take a crazy investment of time if you suck a jump-and-shoot-man
The only Megaman game I beat wasn't even an official version, it was Megaman 2.5d

Could be worse. The only one of the classic series I've ever beaten was 10 and even then it was because I spent the summer of 2011 with fucking nothing to do or play but it. I couldn't afford the Bass DLC either so I just replayed as Rock and Protoman on every difficulty over and over.
