Bonus points:
>minimal electronics
>obscure
>quirky
I'll outline pic related in the next post.

This is a table hockey game made by Stiga. Although there were numerous designs available, Stiga was able to streamline the game to a point where tournaments were able to be held, mostly in yuro land.

What's the point then? They ruined it.

Hercules pinball machine. There's a place nearby me that actually has this one, haven't been able to play it yet because it's always broken. Go figure. Uses a pool cue for the game ball.

Here in Argentina (where people are soccer fanatics to otaku levels or worse) there would be a lot of table football in bars, drugstores, etc.
I owned one when I was a kid (a plastic one but still as big as the "real" ones).
I believe it's getting rare to see them though, seems like people would rather play FIFA on their phones I guess.
orbiter one pinball
odd pinball table in which the ball movement was very erratic

premier table soccer
sort of a warhammer soccer game

I have two mid 80's pachinko machines currently, both not working right now. I'd love to restore them, but I just have no idea where to even start with them. Will post pics if anyone wants to see them

How big are they? Why do you have them?
>>4045141
You'd need some strength to nudge that fucker.

Looks like a shit version of Subbuteo.

Reminds me of that subbuteo thingy. Never played but I have seen it advertised on TV in yuroland.

I had one of those. I remember the sticks bending and then you needed to push them in right angle to even move the guys on the ice.

Are any of these mini arcades worth picking up? I'm also interested in a few TRON variations but they're not made by Coleco. I love the look of the arcades but fear gameplay might be worse than a Tiger handheld, and the price.

This looks mad fun. Its kinda like pool but you're flicking the little guys with your finger. 5t5 would play

Personally I really like VFD games. I have a few, wish I had more. Since they work on the same light emitting method as a CRT they have a sort of CRT look to them and don't need additional lighting A few colors is fine for old arcade style games.
Game play is pretty much the same as an LCD game and like those they tend to work better with games with things in a grid instead of random places. The main difference being that all the ones I've opened have a Z80 as opposed to the calculator MCU shit you find in LCDs. This and a screen with decent response time makes for a much better experience.
How about a nice relaxing game of Bulletball?

They are pretty fragile but every single part can be ordered and replaced cheaply and simply which is nice. There's also a few easy mods that you can do that increase the play life.
>no one has posted paper football yet

Also whatever that stupid game was where you fling coins at each other knuckles.

Reminds me of static soccer.

Couldn't find a pic of what I used to play but this is the gist of it
I'll never understand how this game got as popular as it did, or why I ended up spending so much time playing it, it pretty much sucked. I'd bet someone could make some pretty serious nostalgia bucks with some sketchy kickstarter to revive it.
>yfw it costs $200 to get one on amazon

I've wanted one of these since watching Karate Kid, they're so sexy and I even considered building one as part of the project set in my Engineering class (but it didn't fit the criteria unfortunately), it was gonna be Mutant League Hockey themed
That's right lads. For fun in the early 70's we produced our own hotwheels with a home injection molding machine. I think they'd lock you up and take away your kids if you let them play with this today.

Oh man this guy, I remember the first time I saw this sadness.
He had a sliver of success with this for a senior/handicapped crew and while it is nice...he also lost everything he had for a really mediocre game.
I love his face when he is playing against one of the judges, like "THIS IS IT! I'M PLAYING ON LIVE TV! THIS IS OLYMPICS FOR SURE!"
oooboy
>>4047179
The advertisement was legendary and people bought the crap out of a mediocre board game.

Cant find a decent image anywhere. Was blessed as a kid to have access to the largest indoor arcade in the southern hemisphere, in a tiny aussie country town in tje middle of nowhere. We had tons of awesome vintage retro like pic related.

Another from our arcade. 'Ice Cold Beer' was fucking rad.
>>4048445
There's a place near me that has a mountain climbing-themed variation of this called "Zeke's Peak", I guess made for operators who didn't want a beer-themed game in their family locations.
One of my favorite mechanical games I haven't seen in a while is Namco's Quick and Crash. It's an infrared shooting gallery where you have to draw the gun from the holster and shoot down the target as fast as possible, with the target tipping over when you shoot it. During the final stage, you shoot a cup that actually shatters into pieces, by way of a clever trick glass that hides the cup at the same time the fake broken bits fly up.

Haha holy shit. what a nut
>>4047172
I am a huge fan of table hockey and that looks fucking awesome too
>>4048401
I had this as a kid in the 90s

Ulladulla Funland?

Awesome. Do you know what the metal was? There's not a lot with a low melting temperature that are kid safe.
