Reminds me of Combat Cars.

R4
But Super Hang On was tight.
Super Monaco GP for Genesis has a surprisingly deep career mode for a 1989 console game as you have 2 seasons to go from the shittiest F1 team to the best one and defend your title against fucking Senna.
I had an SNES as a kid but I even then I thought the Genesis version was better.

Top Gear 2/3000
Indy Heat
Super Off-Road
Super Sprint has little upgrades but I enjoy driving/drifting around

Better sound ?

The original mode in Super Hang-on was so great.
I wish they had put that in the xbla release.
Virtua Racer on the 32X is the only racing game I ever spent more than 5 minutes playing.

I wish I could play Super Monaco GP. Everybody says it's really good but I've tried a ton of times and no matter what, I don't even manage to finish the qualifying lap and inevitably come last place in any race I do.

As a person who owned both and again owns both, there is nothing better about the genesis version. There is another song, but all of the songs sound like shit on the Genesis. Also the SNES controller lets you actually do everything without needing imaginary buttons like the Genesis version. Last the SNES controller lets you take tighter turns by turning and using the L/R as well.
I have always liked both Genesis and SNES equally, but this game is not one I would ever play on Genesis before SNES.

After playing a lot the arcade version I really improved playing the console version. What I can say is:
- use the slipstream
- use the brakes only before hairpins
- overtake during chicanes, the car steers by itself during it
- kerbs are your friends
There's no place I'd rather be

I second rock n roll racing, but I prefer the snes version
NFS 4 career mode is worth checking. Platform does not matter.

If we were specifically answering OP's questions, Type 4 WOULD be one of my favorite racing games, but isn't because of the abysmal progression mode.

I hope you're not hinting that PC version is the same as PS1 version and vice versa.
>>4011282
I will stick with GT1 despite knowing deep down that GT2 is overall a superior experience.
style > substance

You sound like you need to git gud
>>4013761
You wouldn't say that if you knew the game forces you to lose specifically in 3rd or 2nd place

Excuses
