Which core Nintendo franchise made the best jump to the gameboy?
>Super Mario Land
>The Legend Of Zelda: Link's Awakening
>Metroid II: Return Of Samus
>Castlevania: The Adventure
>Mega Man: Dr. Wily's Revenge
is Tetris an acceptable answer?
Zelda.
Super Mario Land controls like shit. Don't even try to deny it. Deep down, you know it does.
Castlevania Adventure is way too slow. It's almost unplayable.
Metroid II is actually pretty fucking good, but not as good as Link's Awakening.
Haven't played the handheld Mega Man.
Zelda of course. Vastly prolific and faithful to the original.
Metroid and Mega Man are decent games that feel like legitimate members of their series but suffer somewhat from the palette and resolution. I would have enjoyed both those games more on NES
Castlevania and Super Mario Land really took a new "fresh" direction that probably suited Super Mario more than Castlevania.
Castlevania Adventure is a brutal game. Hard for even a die-hard Castlevania fan to really enjoy but it did pave the way for Castlevania games to keep seeing mobile versions that ultimately became the home for 2D Castlevania which is nice even though most of them are Igavanias.
You didn't mention Donkey Kong but I guess that's moot since Donkey Kong Land was definitely worse than Country.

Killer instinct had a surprisingly decent GB port
Castlevania and Mega Man are my favorite Nintendo franchises.
