It's got that signature spooky genesis music and haunting dark atmoshpere. Very overlooked, imo.

I always thought the Deception series technically counts as horror, although I've talked to people who consider it more of a "gothic action" deal.

Survival horror literally means: horror game with exploration, item management, puzzles and not enough ammo (the last one is optional)
Splatter house is a horror themed beat em up/generic action game. Calling it sur i al horror is like calling castlevania a survival horror. It's just wrong.

Remember folks, not EVERY fucking game with a dark theme is automatically "survival horror".

It has a lot of the makings, but come on. compare it to games like resident evil amd aalone in the dark from a gameplay perspective, and they feel like different genres.
Thus, why i said "kind of". Like it or not, survival horror has a fairly specific gameplay style, and ct isn't a 100 percent match.

I suspect Capcom to have bought the rights to Clock Tower only to ruin it with CT3 to kill the competition with Resident Evil.

And to keep this post retro, I'd recommend the first real survival horror.

I was trying to imply I was also aware of Clocktower. Fully forgot about Deep Fear. Never played it, but I watched a longplay ages ago I think

but yeah I'm not at all well versed in survival horror. The term feels a little nebulous to me. I've played Waxworks a bunch(never beat it tho, should get to that) and while that's definitely horror I don't know if it counts as *survival* horror specifically.

Clock Tower PS1 is a fun game but man, FUCK that slow-as-shit text crawl. Game is probably 40 minutes longer than it actually is thanks to that.

It's got the horror atmosphere down, but yeah, it really is more about you kicking ass all over the place. The series has gotten even more ridiculous as time has gone on - in the most recent entry, one of the stages is in a schoolyard playground.

Calling Dino Crisis survival horror is... a stretch.

Respawning enemies makes it so it's absolutely not worth it to fight anything. That just turns the game into a run around simulator.

iirc the inventory management aspect is also significantly worse than Resident Evil.

It play like house of the dead1 ,you must cut all rim to slow them down befor cut their head.
Use backstep button to run and fire together.
If not you away lost your heal along stage ,because aliens are too strong .
I think Space gun are best aliens stye game then contra,sound effects and music are very scary me, to bad it not port to Nes Snes Md Ps1

I wonder how many games there are to do a stream of every survival horror game. I think you could find some real gems but what defines survival horror? I think fix cameras vital but not everyone agrees on that.

It hard to judge what game arn't survival horror.
Every scary theme game are not enough weapon and heal,small puzzle to pass stage or boss or recure
hostage,very hard control to fightback monster.
Even RE1 who first of name survival horror are very be actiongame for me.zombe are funny to kill by knife and shotgun.
