hey /vr/, redpill me on JA. I know there are a couple of games that are great and a couple that aren't really worth playing, but I've heard there are also mods that are more or less necessary for a couple of them. How into jagged alliance?
get on the multiplayer and hang out with ex-yu gommies

Nah, not into multiplayer. Just want some good single player turn based tactical shit

>redpill me on JA
what in teh fuck
>>3953794
I imagine he meant "please give me an introductory explanation on the video game series Jagged Alliance" desu
>>3953707
Start with Jagged Alliance 2 gold. No mods for the first time through
I played JagAl2 a lot when I was much younger. I've tried to get back into it multiple times and just can't do it
I don't know if I was more patient, autistic or smart as a teenager or what
good game tho

Alright, can do. Is the first one a bit rudimentary or something?
>>3953968
JA2 is regarded as the best in the series.
Read the instruction manual first, or at least a strategy guide first, though. The learning curve is steep. Play it a few times without mods, them download the 1.13 mod.
Tried to reinstall this for the first time in a few years and it won't work on Win 10.

Use the stracciatella mod if you want a higher resolution vanilla experience on modern systems: https://ja2-stracciatella.github.io/
>>3954760
It will, but you will need to surf the mess that is the bearpit forums for a workaround.

So it's not something that an x-com or other strategy game player could pick up and figure out? That's interesing...
>>3955403
I think you defo could, but likely you'll stub your toe on a couple game mechanics probbo
>>3955406
Alright, I'll have a quick butcher's at a guide and then jump right in. Cheers anon.
