>"enhanced" graphics
How disgusting, even though improved over the shoddy rushjob that was the "enhanced" version of the original.
The meaning of the MI2 ending and the Secret of Monkey Island are the same, you shouldn't take some developers' projects away from them because some of them (Ron Gilbert) can keep his secrets like a motherfucker.

The secret is that guybrush fell to the bottom of that cave and hallucinated everything that he saw as he bled out in agony

The "enhanced edition" looks soulless compared to the original. The original did use painted backgrounds which where then digitized for the game. Why didn't they use the original background artwork? The original background paintings look fucking fantastic, I would put this shit on my wall.
Ron Gilbert wrote that ending so that LucasArts couldnt do another entry in the series without him. But they did anyway. Said the Monkey Island series was intended to be a trilogy, and that the final one would reveal the true secret of MI. Said hed do it if Disney will let him but those odds are slim. Maybe hell reveal it on his deathbed.
Disney purchased Lucasfilm because they used the script for the unproduced Monkey Island movie for Pirates of the Caribbean. Lucas' lawyers were considering suing Disney for copyright infringement, and it was easier for them to just buy him out.

I don't even dislike the "enhanced" graphics. The thing that bothers my autism is the fact that all the animations are the same and look fucking stilted and terrible with the higher res artwork.
It's was a cop out. "It's a dream" is what crappy writers do when they don't plan out shit.

The "Secret" was a giant monkey robot if 4 is considered canon. Which it usually isn't. I liked that games style but yeah most people pretend it doesn't exist for good reason.

In some areas (at least in the original's special edition) they haven't even finished it properly, they've painted over the original graphics but failed to cover it all, so in several screens giant pixels are sticking out between the "HD" graphics.
