>Deus ex was almost retro but wouldn't have been very good.
This is really interesting stuff.
>Spector was approached to do a Command and Conquer RPG in 96'
What the fuck?
Eh nothing too entertaining

tried watching it yesterday, but it seems pretty lame overall, more power to you if you enjoyed the whole shebang

Warren is delightfully full of himself (as usual) and keeps calling unreal engine unreal tournament. As for postmortem itself it's nothing new, I think there's an article on gamasutra from 2001 written by him, makes basically the same points.

There's a bunch of unreal 1 engine versions. The engine was enhanced for unreal tournament so hes not entirely wrong calling it that.

Yeah the enhanced UT engine is the build Deus Ex uses. Amusingly Invisible War uses one of the very first unreal 2 builds, might explain some of the quirks of that game.

By quirks you mean xbox couldn't even handle that engine's RAM usage, so all levels in that game are smaller than a jap flat. That's probably the biggest problem with that game.
See also thief deadly shadows, which wasn't as horribly trunkated, but compared to theif the dark project it's 1/5th the size.

Man, I thought it was like a mod or something.
