The actual parts of the NES Classic are incredibly cheap. Judging from wholesale sites, the SoC and flash storage are $4 each while the PMIC is $1. No info on the RAM, unfortunately.

Since the floor for tablet prices seems to be $40 and the NES Classic doesn't have features like a touchscreen or wireless capabilities, it should cost less than $60 to make unless Capcom/Konami greeded hard with the licensing.

I didn't open mine in case newer ones fixed the hack causing prices to skyrocket but holy shit this is even better.

8 gigs is incredibly excessive for the NES mini.
The entire NES library is ~2 gigs, and flash memory is about ~$2 per gig, so even if Nintendo wanted to ship the NES mini with the entire NES library, They'd be throwing $12 per unit at 8gb internal memory.
