Sony/Nintendo Playstation/SNES prototype is being livestream

I'd honestly be much more interested in a raw image of the discs if they even came with discs that is.

I thought it had already been repaired and had been doing the rounds at conventions with people playing it?

Or is this the disc part? Was that broken? Are there even any discs?

The disc drive was still broken, which was just repaired. There are 2 homebrew games that were deved for it and they got the first one to boot, but not the second one.

Even the first one had some graphical issues though.

It is interesting in and of itself... but at this point, I honestly don't care anymore, even as someone feverishly interested in prototype builds of games and unreleased titles. Software prototypes are far more interesting, because at this point all this console can ever do is:

A) play regular SFC/SNES games as would a stock SFC/SNES console, and

B) play some homebrew games that use the added functionality of the disc drive, which doesn't really matter unless you are one of the very few people who will ever have access to the physical console. Maybe this being properly documented will add some sort of functionality to hardware-accurate emulators, but I don't care all that much about modern homebrew, so whatever.

Now, if they found some original game from the era that was designed for this and getting the console to work would allow accurate playthrough of said game, then I'd be pumped as fuck. Otherwise, yeah, cool for the people who own it or have regular access to it, otherwise I don't much care beyond the acknowledgement that it would be neat if there were a working example of this out there in the world.

Good for them, and it'll be great if they're successful. Hopefully even a simple game developed for it still exists, and when it is discovered I'll take a greater interest.

Maybe getting it fully working will be enough to make idiots stop insisting that it is a fake.
