Aesthetically speaking, what's your favourite handheld?
I personally have to go with the nice sleek slate that is the Gameboy Pocket.
This, hands down (pun intended).
Runners up:
Game Boy MicroGBA SP
DS Lite
PSP Go
Honestly, while I love them dearly, as evidenced here, I don't think there's much to be said for the wholeretrogame boy family. That said, there's no doubt that of the four, the pocket is the best of the lot.
That said, there weren't very many aesthetically pleasing older handhelds; the game gear, nomad, & ngpc all look like shitty walkmen/radios (esp. the nomad). The lynx was an abomination.
Some of the original nintendo Game & Watches are very nice; I'm partial to the multi-screen series (e.g. pinball, safebuster). Don't know if you were just referring to consoles, though...
The microvision is cool, especially w/ pinball inserted.
PC engine LT (LapTop) is a really fantastic looking hybrid handheld/console. But perhaps not technically a handheld because it required an external power source? Definitely designed to be held... :/ I think it's pretty, but not nearly as much as other pc engine designs.
PC engine GT looks like a bee stung it.
Sega megajet pretty, but almost definitely not within the standard definition of handheld.
The supervision is a joke.
The game*com is the unfortunate final entry in what passes for "retro" handhelds.
So in all, not a lot of great options. GB pocket is definitely among the best.

Wouldn't you like own them if you loved them dearly? Or you like some kids sad "collection" dearly?

"But doctor," he cried, "I am Pagliacci!"
I guess the DS lite and by extension n3ds. The mxdonalds sega toys were pretty goat too.
