Blockbuster didn't exist in my country until much later, and they only carried N64 games (and sometimes SNES, but it was already past the SNES' time).
I remember renting on Blockbuster, but I have better memories of being even younger and going to local mom and pap video clubs and renting bootleg Famiclone stuff.
M.C. Mario was the shit.

Remember when Blockbuster could have bought Netflix for fifty million bucks? They declined because it was a "niche business". That never fails to put a smile on my face.

despite their shitty quality, i remember renting a lot of psygnosis games that were basically the same. futuristic, do some mission in an open world. they tended to be very difficult to control. i wish those games would make a combeack, now that the technology is better, and there are some standards in terms of the controls. who colony wars here?

the family with kids who would buy shitloads of candy--i always looked down on them. probably because my dad, being married to a chronically obese SJW, had a thing against sugary, fatty foods. fair enough.

despite being exposed to a bunch of shitty games, i wouldn't trade going to blockbuster for the world, besides, that's how i discovered mmx3, chrono trigger, super mario rpg...

Hulu, Netflix and Amazon Prime combined have less than half that many movies. Are you certain about that number, it wasn't counting every copy separately? The MPAA doesn't even list 90,000 movies.

I vaguely remember being aware of a sentiment that Blockbuster was the big bad guy coming into town and knocking out the mom-and-pop stores. I was too young to remember the details, or when our local Blockbuster's even opened, but I know that the local shop went under at some point. Funny how much things changed in what was really a short period of time.

I miss blockbuster. I remember the good times renting PS1 games every weekend.
It's especially hard for me because the spot where it was is so close to my home, it's like a 5 min walk.
Now there's an organic food store there. I still go there from time to time and it hurts.
