Before troubleshooting take a picture of the back of the monitor showing how it's currently hooked up.

Lol. Most likely was just a loose connection. I've done the same where I hadn't plugged a cable all the way into the multi-out and got a garbled image, and started troubleshooting it as though it was a sync issue.

Make sure to pick up some s-video/rgb/component cables so you can use that monitor to its full potential.

Not unless you have a Euro Gamecube. Try S-video

Just ordered a euro gc and the scart cable and freeloader so I can play ntsc games on it... I love it
