That looks a heck of a lot closer to the arcade than the DOS version I used to play the hell out of an was still fun. Spy Hunter was pretty great back then, not so sure how any version holds up now though.

i loved these gsmes as a kid never owned them though. i had an eye operation was in hospital awhile. played it on the master system i think. i got a reboot on the ps2 and was still a fun game

Spy Hunter on NES was a pretty good port IMHO. You haven't witnessed tragedy like playing Double Dragon in the arcade and buying this shit. As a kid I had instant remorse. I used my birthday money and got this pile of shit at children's palace. I've been a bitter cynical fuck ever since. Thanks Tradewest.

Super Ghouls & Ghost. I fell for the hype and got burned for it. The game is just not my cup of tea.

It wasn't just about the graphics, the car physics were also completely different than the arcade. Your car is a lot lighter and it's significantly harder to ram people off the road

The best good ports are of pre-famicom arcade games. Spy hunter may only be on 1984 era hardware but it's also a vertical monitor game which adds another layer of complexity on a port.
