I'm going to be hitting San Francisco in a little while, is there anything notable by way of /vr/? Any arcades or must-hit shops?
Feel free to talk about your local scene or ask about others being spring break season, I guess.
Go to the Musee Mecanique. It's a game museum that has everything from pre-WWII mechanical games to pinball and video games.

There are a few arcades by pier 39 I think. One has some really early coin op machines.
You won't find any retro stores or anything like that in city.

SF has gotten a lot worse in the last 5+ years. All the arcades closed see >>3853548
Arino from GCCX went to >>3853548
& Musee Mecanique for his USA visit. You see SF is astronomically expensive so no retro game stores can survive. Japantown has some anime shops with gundam models and 1 very small arcade that has very few machines. Really there is nothing in SF retro related anymore unless I missed something new pop up. There might be a few places around the greater bay area but mostly everything closed in the past 5 years. Metreon used to have a big arcade but thats been replaced with Target. There was an arcade in San Mateo that closed as well. Also all Play n Trade stores closed because Gamestop sells retro games now. But I havent been to a Gamestop in 5+ years.

better than nothing I guess. I think you can play whatever consoles/arcades they have hooked up.
