I've started romhacking MM6 after finishing updating my MM5 hack and I've already found some cool things... and I've barely started. I think it really has a lot of potential.

How to make MM6 a better game, 3 easy steps:

In 6 they really fucked up the slide compared to previous games. You can't slide jump and there is a small wait time at the end of a slide.
This patch makes the sliding more like the previous MMs (works with both Mega Man VI and Rockman 6):

Why do some people dislike MM4?
The whole argument is always "straight line level design", but that's completely forgetting other aspects of the gameplay. You still have to carefully aim for enemies, time your shot and movement, etc

It's nothing like MM5 which is like a walk in the park.

4 is probably my favourite of the initial 6. It's the most solid all things considered imo. Sure a couple of bosses are lame, but I'd rather have that than the lamer bosses of 5/6 or the broken Doc Bot robots of 3 which are full of lag and pretty much demand of you to use weaknesses.

Did you guys know that in Blizzard Man, using the Power Suit you can throw back the Curlinger enemies and they'll kill whatever they hit on their way?

Too bad there isn't a single instance in the game when that is useful. It's coded in the game but not used.

It's my favorite too and I don't get it either, is probably is the most polished NES Megaman game and the difficulty level is perfect.

Maybe you could cherry pick the soundtrack not being as amazing as 2 and 3 or how it started the 2 castles trend which I think it got old in Megaman 5, but the game is clearly well made.

Its much better than the shitfest that is V.

MM6 is heavily underrated and often skipped and I preferred it over MM3 which is completely overrated. MM6 has a pretty solid OST too

MM4 is great, anon. My only complaint about it is that some of the music is a little off-key.
The stages from MM4 in the GB MM4 actually fix that off-key thing in their themes, sounds much better, even the boss theme sounds better.

If any of you have a 3DS, I strongly recommend getting the GB MegaMan games.
