Neo Geo games are just arcade games. MAME and Final Burn Alpha work perfectly.

There are only 150 or so Neo Geo games. I once took a weekend and played all of them. I'd recommend just doing that. You'll find a lot of gems and stuff that might appeal to you despite not being very popular.

Also Neo Turf Masters is the best game ever made.

I never really got into games until I was like 15 and I was born in 93 so a lot of the /vr/ and arcade stuff is pretty far out of my wheelhouse.

Neo Geo emulation is excellent. There's maybe 150 games including unreleased and unofficial shit. Should be easy enough to sort through.

Yes, FBA is better than MAME for NEO-GEO. But both require a neogeo BIOS file to run properly. Make sure you get the one supported by whatever MAME romset version is used by your build of FBA.

Just buy a Wii, download the Neo-Geo games and rock-and-roll.

Turf masters is a great game, but it's not even the best sports game on Neo. Baseball Stars 2 and Windjammers are better. Windjammers is the king of all sports games. A few friends a few cases of beer and Windjammers is the recipe for great time.

No. There are lots of exceptions. Just play them all.

Arcade emulation is a hassle. You have to have a rom that matches the version of your emulator. FBA is a little more forgiving, but you still need the right roms.

On top of that, some of the roms I get straight up either don't work right (Metal Slug X has messed up sprites) or won't detect (like Magician Lord or Pulstar).
