Hey /vr/! I'm looking for some decent retro OST's that are ragtime based. Pic related is an example that came to mind.
Does this song fit the bill?

Lot of people say it sounds like reggae, I thought that should be worth something or at least an interesting contribution. Afterall, time spend listening to Joe McAlby, I time well spend.

Conker's Bad Fur Day: Windy. Ragtime in A
Ragtime is pretty much upbeat stuff with short notes played on jazz instruments.
PROTIP: When in doubt, just think of music you'd hear on a player piano.

first thing that came to mind hearing that, especially with the laugh track

First one's pretty good. It sounds like a modernized rag. The game instruments sound kinda weird, but this would work on real ones.
Second one's closer to just weird jazz with a funk harmony.
I'm going to revise >>3838173 and say no saxophone, since it's pretty hard to find saxophone that isn't jazz. So, other band instruments, or piano.

Is a great example of rag on the piano. The tempo is quick, and the notes are very short. Ragtime can be played slower and have longer notes, but they need to be played such that each note sticks out and they don't blend together.
An example of slower rag played by a band:

You'll notice that >>3838140 sounds like this.
