The CDI games are notoriously awful. They had shit controls and faulty platforming. However, if you fixed those two issues the games would be god tier.

The games have great music and fantastic animation for both gameplay and cutscenes.

Yes, the animation is pretty good. It's the art that's terrible.

Problem is the controls are terrible (made worse by the even more terrible CD-i controllers), the gameplay is buggy as all hell (falling through platformers) and unoptimized as fuck (lots of loading and pauses during things that should be instant like opening inventories),

I still think King Harkinian is a really cool character and wish he at least made it into Hyrule Warriors.
