Next Generation started pretty good, but they went full retard somewhere around the fifth-to-sixth gen transition and they shortened the official name to Next-Gen.

Diehard Gamefan > everything else.
they had the best screenshots on glossy, quality paper. And their gossip page was just pure gold.

Shame what happened to Shidoshi and Nick Rox.

First one I ever bought. Probably spent literally hundreds of dollars buying magazines off newsstands, a big expense for a 10 year old - coulda bought a couple games instead.

SONIC'S TWO TAILED FRIEND

what happened to them anon?
UK had the best gaming mags and journalism.
>>3833176
Seconded. UK ruled print.
Super Play was an amazing publication and way ahead of it's time. It openly championed JRPGS at a time when they were still a niche genre in the west and they also nurtured the emerging anime scene.

did anyone read sonic the comic? does it count as a game mag?
>>3833407
I read the Archie Sonic comics in the States. I don't think it counts as a mag, no.

This cover art makes me want to slice my arms open.

uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh I stopped reading sonic comics in 1995-6 thank god. the older issues were decently drawn at least. Also this says its from 2001 so not retro.

i still remember that issue... good times!
I have been looking up a lot of 90's gaming mag scans lately. And the stuff that some of these mags printed is hilarious. How the fuck did they get away with pulling "facts" out of their asses all the time.
It's never enough to remember that archive have lots of old game and computer magazines scanned

Back when Molyneux was taken a little more seriously ... it feels like it's been an eternity since he made games like Dungeon Keeper.
