what the fuck were they thinking when the approved the art for this release? honestly looks like some middle school deviant art shit
they need to take a cue from Data Discs (or they should've had, at least)
It's a gag cover for a video game soundtrack, my man.
>>3810745
meh.
why would they want to make it a gag cover? releasing it with half way decent artwork wouldn't be taking yourself too seriously, I don't think.
pic related, as data discs always knocks it out of the park every time.

>>3810745
the same people, iam8bit, did the battletoads one and that one looks pretty awesome imo
>>3810757
>why would they want to make it a gag cover?
Maybe because Banjo-Kazooie is a funny game?
>>3810791
>MUH BANJO-KAZOOIE IS SRS BUSINESS YOUNG MAN
pretty lame looking cover.
>>3810757
data discs is fucking awesome. You can tell they actually love the work they do and give their customers something to be happy to own and put on display. I hope they do Zwei and Saga in time.
>>3810840
yeah data discs knows their shit and it's awesome. Zweia and Saga would be great. I think I've read that sor3 is confirmed for a release sometime. The only problem is that I want to buy it all, ahha ugggg
would be nice to see somebody take Data Discs' lead and release some Nintendo stuff... I'm not convinced iam8bit does that great of a job- I've read there's been some quality issues with the battletoads release (whereas data discs gets a lot of the stuff straight from the pc-88 source files)
>>3810831
lol

Do you actually own it? It's really blurry, for some reason they couldn't use pixel art for it.
Their presentation is always top tier, hope forSakura Wars, Monster World series, Jet Set Radio and Space Channel 5 from thembut Outrun is just really blurry.
>>3811454
damn, yeah you're right, it is pretty blurry- especially the inserts. I think I was so pleased with the cool changeable insert idea, that I didn't examine the image quality.
I wonder why they couldn't use the pixel art for it?
It's still probably my favorite data discs release, tho. The tri color vinyl is gorgeous
>>3811903
Maybe some legal issue with use of original art assets. No idea. But on Facebook they straight out said that original pixel art was impossible.
Hope this didn't ruin your enjoyment from the whole package.
>>3812205
apparently this is what deviant art has to offer for banjo kazooie related art
O_O'
>>3813041
is this the part where reddit cringeposters hijack the thread?

I looked at the picture and thought how cool that mustve been. Then i read your comment.
>>3814737
do you mean to say that you enjoy the artwork?
>>3814850
>>3814737
I don't mean to say that in a dick-ish way. I am just curious about this because apparently most people are totally fine with the artwork, while I was totally struck by it when I first saw it (in a really bad way, bahah).
I must be the only one who is so offput by the artwork. doh.
>>3813057
not today
>>3810738
>>3814872
If this was the artwork I'd fucking love it.
The original is obviously meant to be silly, but there's just enough effort put in to make it seem just a little too. . . I dunno. Off.
>>3814872
Man, those graphics look like real life
>>3814872
bottles lmao
I remember someone posting their retro gaming room on here not long ago and had this vinyl on the wall, along with that Battletoads one. Thought about purchasing the artwork for myself, but couldn't find it anywhere. It's really neat in a kitsch way. Might look better from far away than viewed up-close on a computer screen, though.
>>3815876
>It's really neat in a kitsch way.
yeah that's true. I can definitely feel the kitch-y vibe from it
>>3810989
i don't think the retards at iam8bit have any concept of quality.
i like this drawing
