How come there weren't any good games made of the best retro cartoon?
I know, right? A generic platformer would have been perfectly acceptable. Instead they made Escort Mission: The Game.

Virtual Stupidity > SNES > Genesis
>>3810509
>SNES > Genesis
But that's objectively wrong.
This is now a beavis and butthead thread.
>>3810517
whici is quickly turning into a (surprise, surprise) md vs snes thread.
Seriously now though, how come there wasn't a video game based on Sumo Dudes?
At least we got 4 Ren and Stimpy games on the SNES. 3 shit and one okay.
>>3810516
I'm a Nintendo fanboy and I still would agree that the Snes version was concentrated ass.
>>3810594
hey, at least genesis Aladdin used the songs from the movie. SNES one couldn't even manage more than 1 song.
>>3810705
Both of them are pretty shit, and this coming from someone who isn't neither a Nintendo or Sega fanboy.
Virtual stupidity was the best B&B game simply because you didn't need to put up with shit gameplay, since it was just a point and click adventure game.
>>3810471
Ah Real Monsters should've been great too. But the show was kind of wasted opportunities also I suppose
>>3810491
This game really is the physical embodiment of staying-the-night at a friend's in 5th grade in 1996 for me, I can't even judge it the nostalgia is so strong
>>3810707
>>3810594
The OST is the least of the problems of Genesis Aladdin.
Main problem was the gameplay.
>>3810715
git gud
>>3810709
The Genesis version had adventure elements and a better control/gameplay.
The Snes version had shit gameplay, shit graphics (yes, even considering how shit B&B's show is) and it was just plain boring.
Virtual Stupidity was plain great.
There were 4 Ren & Stimpy games on the SNES and they were all garbage. I doubt the games on other systems were any better.
Everyone's talking about Beavis and Butthead but no one has mentioned this game. I don't know if it's actually any good, but I absolutely loved it as a kid. I'd pay for it if it was on GoG or something just to sate my curiosity and nostalgia. Anyone else here play it?

By this board's definition it is, but none of the games based on it are.

I was just playing this last night for the first time in like 20 years. The control is great, but because of the graphics and perspective, the edges of platforms are ill-defined like in your gif. I also didn't like the feel of the sword. The lag on the attack is awful, and the range is terrible. The absolute worst thing is how the screen tracks you. Instead of keeping Aladdin in the center, or better yet, slightly to the left, it instead allows you to be 3/4 of the way to the right before it starts scrolling with you. It really ruins your visibility and makes it hard to know what you're doing. Level design is a little uninspired and occasionally repetitive, but never terrible.
That said, the graphics are astounding. The sprite animations and interactivity are wonderful. The attention to detail is impressive. I love how enemy blades can cut the apples you throw at them sometimes.
Overall, it's not really a great game, but given that the development teams goal was probably just "make a game that looks like the movie and lets kids be Aladdin", it certainly could have been worse.
Best video game based on a cartoon: Turtles in Time.
Best cartoon based on a video game: Megaman.
>>3810714
For Ah Real Monsters I could see it doing somewhat decent as like a stealth-style game where you have to sneak around and scare people without too many seeing you.
Not sure what I'd do for Rocko aside from just going with a point'n'click adventure game.
>>3813039
Rocko would be a life simulator in the vein of Shenmue and Mizzurna Falls.

Oh you.

The rocko game isn't bad at all actually just not what anyone would have expected
