Well, to be fair, the entire RCPD and Umbrella's mercs didn't do much better in RE3. On top of that, let's consider that you take a stance and shoot at someone who approaches. They don't drop, or stop approaching you. You start to feel that something is wrong. *You* may choose flight, but it's not completely out of the question that one would panic and just start unloading bullets from their firearm. Oh, and because you're freaked out/stressed, your accuracy just went down the tubes. Have fun!

Police are trained to actually basically empty their magazines in to threats, because the whole point is to stop the threat and in the heat of the moment you don't have time to carefully aim every shot perfectly. Not true. RE zombies die typically with a few shots to the chest. Headshots just do more damage. They're not needed for instakills.

That's a common mistake, and one I made too. The scrap yard behind the Police Station leads to an elevator. It leads down to a rail system, which brings you to the actual lab. The lab is like 8 miles away from the Police station. And there's likely other entrances too.

It seems like the tentacle went through his mouth and out the other side, but his head was mostly left intact, including his brain. Thinking about it, I would expect him to be able to be zombified, but paralyzed due to damage to the spinal cord. Of course, zombie fiction never seems to acknowledge the spinal cord.

No. It goes: everything in RE3 up to when Jill gets infected by Nemesis (Brad dies the first time Jill sees Nemesis, long before that) -> all of RE2 -> the rest of RE3 starting from when you play as Carlos.
