Both have responsive and good controls, stylized graphics, and great music.

While games like Chronicles of Mystara are great and have much better combat systems, I just didn't play them as much.

The same could be said for Fantastic Four. If it wasn't for the awful controls that use every button for what should be a simple beat em up the game would be just bad and ugly, not awful.

Never heard of the term till a year ago on this board. Super Mario Bros is a belt scroller. Every 16bit game.

2.5D is supposed to be a 2d game with 3d rendered graphics. So Nights into Dreams is a belt scroller now.
