Cecil/Rosa was so cute, so fairy-tale, so pure and good. It's simple and barebones, but gosh, I love it.

I used to self-insert as Rosa

and explore the possibilites of Cecil/Kain

Second favourite retro couple is Cless/Mint from Tales of Phantasia. It's generic and all, but you can tell they were made for eachother and meant to be. It's an innocent love.

Third favourite is Zidane/Dagger from FF9, their antics are entertaining.

It woudln't bother me in the slightest if I had seen it when Super Mario Bros was the only SMB game released. I don't buy into the whole "happily ever after" love story that follows some rando saving a princess he's never met.

But then 30 years of history between Mario and Peach happened and it does bug a little, but as with comics, you can just shrug it off by saying it's an alternate reality.

I don't give a fuck about Pauline, I just want a puzzle platformer akin to DK'94. It's not like they're making a suitable substitute for that style of gameplay.

If it's because of Miyamoto's "Can't have Mario or DK in two different kinds of platformers" Autism, then just fucking use Donkey Kong Junior or Stanley the Bug Man. Just give me that type of game again.

That was pretty much when the movie was made. Hell, it was even released with a video strategy guide for Lost Levels, which they showed in theaters before the movie. It is speculated that Bowser's and Peach's current character designs were actually a product of this movie, along with Luigi's tall and slimmer design (although his colors are off in the movie compared to the color scheme they went with in Mario 2/3).
