/n/ here, with a request once more...
Can /vr/ recommend me games that feature a train that you can follow around on its route?
Preferably looping, but I'll accept point-to-point.
Pic related is a well-known example.
Bonus points if you can ride or be killed by it.
I always enjoyed this in driving games and platformers because it's almost like a virtual model R.R.
Forgive me if this is half-press levels of autism.
...you do know about Densha De Go right?

Sunset Riders.

I do.
Railroad Tycoon as well.
I'm looking for something more along the lines of the train being "added flavor" rather than the focus, if that makes sense.
ATV Offroad Fury 2
Final Fantasy 8. There is a train on the world map and you can follow it point to point. Do you have autism, per chance?

This is all I can think about but it's not retro. One of my personal favorite crappy weeb games Final Zone has a pretty neat train level.
>>3787560
There are a lot of games with levels taking place on trains.
Sunset Riders
TMNT Turtles in Time
Mega Man 5
Ninja Gaiden 2
Tiny Toons: Buster Busts Loose
I'm sure there are many more that don't come immediately to mind.
Mega Man X4 has a train stage if that counts... come to think of it, X5 does too.
(pic is from X4)
Transarctica.
Test Drive 3
Spirit Tracks
Mario rpg has boosters tower with a train inside it. I'm not sure if that's autistic enough for you though.

That's a weird fetish.
Turtles in Time has a train stage.

San Andreas and Red Dead Redemption had trains moving through their worlds. Not /vr/ but those and Mario Kart are the vidya trains that stick out in my mind.
NFS:High Stakes
Star Fox 64
you spend the entire level picking it apart, though

iirc final fantasy 8 has a train that travels point-to-point on the world map.
probably not that rewarding since it's a bird's eye view with little detail. and i can't remember how long you have to play before you can access that area of the map.
Not exactly what you asked for, but since you mentioned the idea of a "virtual model railroad", pic related is just that.

I was just thinking of this and Shadows of the Empire.
Did at least one of the Rogue Squadron games have an assault on a train or convoy?
I want to say Mega Man Legends or Tron Bonne did too, but I don't remember.

revolt
Metal Slug X has the a great train mission.
>>3788250
All you had to do was follow the goddamn train
>>3787582
He likes trains, what do you think?
>>3787560
So you're not just looking for train-theme levels in games, right? You're looking for games with trains that follow a specific course within an area, that run completely independent to what you're doing in the level, and can be followed to see where it goes, correct?
I just want to clarify.
>>3787560
Why was following this train so damn comfy?
all final fantasy games since 6 have heavily featured trains and train-esque features. 7 especially.

I think that's what he´s looking for. Everybody assumed he was asking for train games/games featuring train levels.
This may does not count, but LittleBigPlanet Karting has a couple of created levels with that possibility (and of course a Kalimari Desert track)

Because you felt you were part of something, and also seeing for hidden items or a shortcut in the train tunnel. Same with Toad's Turnpike, right?
Not /vr/ but since you probably asked in /v/ and nobody mentioned it. If you're not familiar with this game, all the tracks are put together by players in a track creator. It's not been patched with this update yet, however.

>Did at least one of the Rogue Squadron games have an assault on a train or convoy?
It did. The first Kessel mission.

And later on you escort one as well.
IIRC San Francisco Rush had some levels with train cabs
Wario Land!
Driver 2
>>3789694
I think Legends 2 had a boss fight involving a vehicle pursuit of some kind, but I don't remember much about it at all.

Ignition.
No blast corps? Thought u guys had mega autism for this game
