You save babes in Zero Hour on the N64, the only Duke Nukem I played a ton of as a kid. There's a not-so-hidden strip club in the first or second level were you can crouch through a grate and save a couple babes inside.

This being said the game does punish you for killing them by spawning enemies (most of the time anyway).

The weapons are honestly better in 64. First, you get the grenade launcher which is more fun and satisfying than almost any other weapon. Then you get alternate ammo like dumdum rounds for the pistol, or explosive shell for the shotty. Also it was coop on the N64 so it was an awesome game to play with your bro. Even though they got rid of some tits and ass, they did end up adding a lot of extra content to the levels and easter eggs that weren't in the PC version. When they took as much care as they did with the N64 port of Duke to where its gameplay and content were arguably on par of the original then it is easier to forgive the censoring. Obviously the PC version had online play and modding support which makes it hold up better in the long run. Also there is a PC mod that turns the game exactly like D64 but you can use your keyboard/mouse.

Killing them IS saving them from a fate worse than death, followed by death anyway.

That's why when you kill them you are rewarded by getting more monsters to kill. It's not a proper 100% kills run unless you spawn all the monsters!

They're carrying an aleeun bass turd baby inside of them. Being able to save them feels nice and all but at the same time it's perfectly reasonable to me that there's nothing anybody can do to help them. They beg Duke to mercy kill them, and when Duke obliges them he does so begrudgingly every time. The one scene in DNF where those two girls were impregnated in the hive and Duke just kind of giggled at their impending doom was irritating to me for that specific reason.
