And just for the sake of anyone who's not up to speed here, originally the metroid series was a set of sidescrolling action adventure games with a big focus on exploration. Action adventure was rheir genre thouh, and all was fine.

Then castlevania had about 7 games that ripped off super metroid hard. So some "clever" folks coined the term metroidvania to describe those specific games. Totally fi e with that, as it's accurite.

Later on, retards on the interwebs started calling all exploration centered 2d action adventure games metroidvania. Even when they clearly didn't fit the formula at all.
Like, some people calling things like meganan zero and shantae metroidvanias...

So yeah, it's irritating, retarded, exausting and etc.

Undertale is shit storywise but I will admit that both the music and the battle system are great.
The battle system counts on player skill instead of raw numbers. (Kiiiinda like parasite eve battle system.) I would like to see it more implemented and improved on in future indie bit-styled rpg's, as long as they're not blatant copies.
