The healer fights with a crossbow and the offensive caster fights with a gun, how comfy is that?
Sounds pretty fucking stupid, why do they have guns in medieval times? Mages are weak and close range to offset their healing power, giving them ranged weaponry is utterly retarded as well.

>muh realism in a fantasy time travel JRPG
They had hand canons back then.

If you're using attacks with either of them, you're probably doing it wrong. Robo and Frog make better healers if you plan on attacking with your healer at all, and Lucca's techs are so useful that there's no reason to ever attack with her. Even if you boost the shit out of her ranged damage, her attacks do less than a 2mp tier 1 tech.
I don't even buy those two weapons. I just equip them with whatever I find along the way because all they do is cast anyway. And I almost always have at least one of them in my party.
Is there any game's cast comparable to CT's?

>medieval times
She's an inventor, and their time doesn't exactly match up with ours. Their medieval period was 400AD, 1000 is closer to 1500 or so, by which point firearms definitely did exist.
>nerdy inventor chick who likes to burn stuff
Why is Lucca so incredibly based?

Is there any game comparable to CT?
>>3783594
I thought FFVI had more diversity in cast members for sure, being my first RPG I was disappointed to see the lack of choice in almost every other RPG, not just CT.
>>3783594
In terms of plot relevance? or just quirkiness?
Not /vr/, but the Shadow Hearts cast is pretty diverse across all the games. But the third game was stupid.
There's obviously Chrono Cross. But it's a recruitable cast like that of Suikoden or Shining Force where.

*where they don't get a lot of development.

I literally can't even

1000 A.D in Chrono Trigger is clearly not same as 1000 A.D in the real world. The have electricity and vehicles.

"I am Setsuna" is a new game that uses a similar battle system to Chrono Trigger.

The protagonist fucks both of them. How comfy is that?

She should have stayed with Flea in the Middle Ages, worked her technowizardry there. Yeah, I bet you read that one too.

Then why not give everyone guns
This might be the place to ask. What other RPGs have enemies displayed in the overworld like CT? I fucking hate Final Fantasy and its constant random encounters.
>>3787971
Lunar SSSC and Eternal Blue Complete
SMRPG and the other Mario RPGs
Earthbound
Final Fantasy Mystic Quest
Lufia 2 (only has random battles on the world map)

what is proficiency?
Someone post some good in game screen shots please.

I would have played it if the character designs didn't look so overdesigned. I miss the simpler character designs in older JRPGs.

The Magus boss fight was really epic for a 16 bit game. The Kefka final boss has nothing on it with its big still sprite.
