>buy game on eBay for 20+ dollars
>still has a $2.99 goodwill sticker on it
>buy game on eBay for 3 dollars
>still has $49.99 gamestop sticker on it

Caveat emptor m8.
I can understand wanting to leave a sticker on if you found some rare game in the wild for next to nothing, but what decent seller would basically want someone to know how much of a markup they made? Also what decent seller doesn't remove all stickers and try to make the cart look as good as possible?
>retro games at goodwill
That sticker is most likely from at least a decade ago, don't worry.
Definitely one of the biggest cockteases if you're a collector

You could just emulate it you know.
>Buy games new for $20-$60
>Just twenty or thirty years later
>Same games are worth $20-$60 again
>play game on emulator
>hear police banging at my door 24 hours later

It's actually the Vintage Video Games Collectors Association here to destroy your computers.

Because retro fags are dumb ass cattle to make money off, it's for the keks, to make fun of them being dumb.

As someone who is reaching that point with the games I got as a kid (SNES, 64, Gamecube) I really appreciate this.
It is like my hobby was an investment of sorts.
Where it isn't an investment is that I will never sell.
>>3782435
Because everyone and their grandmother (literally, i saw an 80 year old woman looking up games on her phone) knows old games can be worth money and knows how to use ebay.
Scumbag flippers dont give a fuck. Theyre the ones that say "rare oop tested great condition" but it barely works and looks like someone shat it out.
Well, with antiques and books it's interesting to see original price stickers. But not with this.
>starfox still has a faded sticker from some defunct local video store in michigan on the back
>imagine it was rented by some kids in the midst of their small-town coming-of-age adventure in the summer of '93
>Order package from Japan
>Pay 3500 Yen for shipping
>Package comes and the shipping was actually 2000 Yen
>buy computer game for $1.99, in the box with everything
>it sells for almost $95
I actually love getting games with rental store stickers on them as long as they aren't on the label. We had a game shop/rental place for years in the town where I grew up, and I still have a few games with their stickers.
>>3782435
The sticker could have been on for years. I've bought games with 3 or 4 different price stickers on before.

This.
I generally despise stickers on games but I do get a little pang of nostalgia when i find ones that have defunct rental or game stores on them.

the box and packing material costs money too
>find a good game for really cheap
>put the cartridge in
>realize why it was so cheap; the whole game is in german
>I don't speak german

>tfw you forget to rewind your nintendo tapes

Came here to post this. I have a blockbuster cart with a value village sticker on it i got when clinton was in office. I remember when you could hardly give a cart away unless it was special.
>>3788995
I have a game with a sticker on it but not a local shop it has a blockbuster sticker on it.
>go into game shop
>game on the rack has a 2 dollar value village sticker on it
>store has it priced at 15 dollars and didn't even bother to put their price on top of the old price sticker

>Check the site to see what it's like

>Look it up on the wayback machine
>It doesn't exist
