Setup thread?
Just got the TV for free. I'll get one with component eventually, but you can't complain about free.

Greetings, some anon who's actually autistic.
Good thread so far. Actually some new set-ups instead of the same old ones that always get reposted.

the size of that CRT is super comfy. Smaller TVs are the coolest cause it better hides the low quality games had back then.
Sure, here's mine.

plebeians
This is my setup circa 1999. I took it with a shitty disposable polaroid camera I got for Christmas. MST3K is on the tube, but I think that's my Genesis with Earthworm Jim 2 underneath.
Yes, my computer was on the floor in front of my TV. I had a microphone propped up against the TV speaker so I could record sound wavs from video games and tv shows to share on AOL, but I had no internet in my bedroom, so I used to split the wavs apart onto multiple floppies, transfer them to my parents' PC and then edit them back together. And that's the way I liked it.

I keep thinking I'd like to get a little 5-inch PVM to daisy chain to my 20 inch and put it somewhere else in the room just for shits, like maybe over by my computer, so when I get IMs from friends or I'm doing some mindless busy work, I can keep on playing.

>I don't know much about CRT sizes and what's out there.
Most common larger size was 36 inches, although I've seen a couple in the 40+ range, they are rare, expensive and heavy. I think 27 to 32 is ideal for most 5th gen+ games where the 3D graphics gain a bit more scope and atmosphere. I got a 20 inch PVM last year, and I really like that size for older games, especially sitting somewhat close in a beanbag. 14 is at the lower end of things, but it's still a good size if you're sitting close. Comfy indeed.

Pretty sad. Poorfag bandwagon collector?

I actually have a 27 inch one that's very nice, but I don't have room for it with my current living arrangement. PS2 on component looks GORGEOUS on it. I'll have somewhere for it one day.
My current attainable goal though is one of similar size with component hookups, or at least better audio. This little guy just has mono, but I don't notice a lot of difference, really.
