So, what's my go-to type of display for retro gaming if I don't want a big, bulky, ugly CRT in my house? Plasma? Heard nothing but good things about it.

A small, compact, beautiful CRT.

Ya see, flat-panel displays can be larger than 14 inches without being complete behemoths.

A 13" CRT is completely adequate.
Even 20's aren't that big. I had a 20 in my room when I was 14 and I moved it by myself all the time.

The Pioneer xx8XD models are godlike for retro gaming and still useful for general viewing. I have the 428 but am currently on the lookout for a 508.
Pick one up while they're still affordable.

My notebook is 13", anon.

Yeah, but it's probably 16:9, rather than 4:3.
13" is decent, even if I wouldn't play 4 person split screen on it.

Stop being shallow and get a CRT.
What's so good about plasma?
>>3769347
a 13" crt has more screen space than a 17" lcd

That's what I'm saying.
The 13" CRT is bigger than the 13" notebook because they're different aspect ratios.

Yes, comparing my 20" ikegami to my 20" desktop monitors, it feels like the monolith.

If you are a eurofag the way to go when it comes to "stylish" CRTs are B&O sets
