>it's actually called "Lightening Force"
How? HOW? "Lightning" isn't even hard to spell, fuck!
Btw, apparently, "Lightening" is a word; "a drop in the level of the uterus during the last weeks of pregnancy as the head of the fetus engages in the pelvis." ...Yeeeah.
I'm kind of disappointed this game had nothing to do with the aforementioned.

Why couldn't they just do that
>>3755186
Because Wonder Boy and Monster World are two separate franchises.
>>3755203
No they are not.
That's similar to how the Japanese naming went anyway.
>>3755203
Monster World IV was originally going to be Wonder Boy 6: Monster World IV but they didn't have the space to fit in the male choice, and they preferred Asha.

>>3755079
You forgot to include Monster World I on your list somewhere though
>>3755851
VII was so revolutionary that they just decided to skip ahead. The eventually made a IV, V, and VI on older consoles to appeal to retro gamers.
>>3755851
>>3755150
Holy shit, I laughed out loud. Been too long. Gonna go give this a listen.

The Tales of series in general.
You forgot Adventure Island.
>>3756943
Man, Wonder Boy on arcade is easily the best version of the game, and the Monster World games are a lot better than the Adventure Island sequels.
Adventure Island 3 and 4 are good games too though, to be fair.

>>3755186
>>3755079
You guys are forgetting that Monster Lair and Dragon's Trap were both titled Wonder Boy III. One of them was the console sequel to Monster Land (which was retitled Monster World on Mark III) and the other was the arcade sequel.
The weirdest about all this is that Dragon's Trap wasn't even released in Japan on the Mark III. It came out on PC Engine (as fucking Adventure Island) and on Game Gear (as Monster World II) after Monster World III was released on Mega Drive.
