Which of the 3 retro OS should I install onto my new pi, retropie, lakka or emulation station?

the best one
RISC OS
I'm thinking of investing in a RasPi3 for TV emulation.
How much worse is it compared to PC-based shit? I'm spoiled on shit, but if it's not too bad I might have a go.

I think retropie runs emulation station. I used Lakka for the interface, it mirrors a PS3's. Retropie works ok as well and is fairly similar.

Just buy an Odroid C2 instead. Same price. Better.

Was eyeing the Odroids as well.
I'm mostly looking at older Sega stuff, maybe some SNES and GBA.
Will take your tip into my decision, thanks.

If you're strapped for crash or just a miser, you might want to cheap out and get an Orange Pi Zero for 6.99 from Ali Express.
It's a quad-core with 256MB of RAM. Lakka has an official build for it.

>Lakka has an official build for it.
Sorry, confused with the Banana Pi for a moment. Lakka does not have an official build for it, but I installed Retroarch on armbian, which is essentially the same.

It's not the cash. Anything under $100 is fine by me.
I just want a good, small TV box and don't feel like buying a Wii and modding the shit.
Plus I like those small form factors. Card deck computers are awesome.

If you're willing to spend that much, you should get an Odroid XU4, then. It's easily the most powerful of the single board computers right now. It can even run most N64 and PSP games from my experience.
The fan is pretty noisy, though. I replaced mine with a 120mm fan running at a low speed, the board runs cooler and it's nearly inaudible.

PSP games in proper HD sounds awesome.
Especially the GoW games.
Well then. BTW, wireless ain't important, so if that board lacks it that's fine. I'll go see about it.
Thanks man.

I'm not so sure about the performance at very high resolutions, doubly so because Retroarch's PPSSPP core is outdated as all hell.

Always hope for the future. Anyway, that box seems like the man for the job.
I had tons of old fans I can try and use if the stock one annoys me.
Again, kudos.

Anytime. Glad I could help.

This.
Objectively the right answer for "best retro OS".
>>3703841
>OS
>emulation station
Another shining example of how retarded memeberrybabies are.

But it does run shitloads of OSes! Linux, HURD, Plan9, BSD, RISC-OS, AROS and probably also Inferno, Solaris and Darwin.
