Time to help a newfag, /vr/
Okay so I decided to put this old PC I had to use and installed this thing called Lakka that’s basically an OS with emulators.
Sadly the computer is too slow for N64 games so I’m limited to NES/SNES/GameBoy Original/Color/Advance/Other 2D consoles
>TL;DR What are some must-have games for Pre-N64 systems?
Bonus points if there’s a rompack.zip I can download so I don’t have to hand-pick them. Particularly interested in the Nintendo ones. Also trying to find an old Sony Trinitron TV I had a few years back to replace that monitor. Is there even a way to connect VGA to RCA?
Man you gotta narrow it down for us
This is like going to /a/ and asking "WHAT IS A GOOD ANIME???"
What other games do you like? What genres are you looking for? Give us a starting point here.

True, my bad.
Classics should be the main focus since I didn't have any of these consoles as a kid but anything that's worth playing to any of you I'm okay with.
Also GBA Pokémon Romhacks welcome, but only if they're complete.
I just want to expand my library.

There are ways but they're not great. If you're just talking composite you probably won't care though. I recommend getting a video card that has composite out versus getting a converter. You can't really get 240p either way though

There's not. Please at least focus on one genre or one platform or both.
If you never played the 2D Zelda games then play those
Mario
Sonic
Zelda
Final Fantasy
I dunno man I need more specifics
How good is lakka? Is it better optimized for playing retro games than a PC running windows? Or is it just a novelty like a retro pi which isn't particularly good at gaming like people think/want to think?

Theoretically it eliminates the OS overhead but by modern standards something like XP doesn't really take up much. It's just Libretro like RA iirc.

The entire rom set for every game you listed probably fits in 20GB. Just get those.
