Hi /vr/
I'm interested in playing castlevania, but what I've heard about the difficulty is kind of scaring me off. The hardest games I've beaten are probably mega man 4 and 5 (I'll beat 1 and 3 sometime) and smb3. What do you think about the difficulty for an average gamer? Do you think this game will be too hard for me to have fun? Thanks!

Depends on where you get your fun from. The challenge is present in 1 and 3 but the challenge is fair. 1's easier than 3. 3's easier than x68k.
If you find enjoyment in honest challenge and triumphing in that. Castlevania 1 will be fine for you.

Did you really need to ask 4chan about this. Just play it you fucking pussy
Castlevania 1 is about as hard as those you listed, maybe a little bit more. You will manage.

I can't beat it except one time but I'm terrible

If you could handle classic MM then you can probably handle classic Castlevania. If they're too hard for you then you can try Symphony of the Night and the handheld games after it as they're much easier.
They are do-able once you get enemy patterns and layout ingrained in your memory. There is unlimited continues as well so you can keep hitting your head on a level until you finally catch your wind.
Play the japanese cart version on easy.

It has only like 5 levels, the last one before dracula is brutal the other 4 are surpprisingly manageble. You'll die a lot but it does have infinite continues.

CV is more about knowing what to do and doing it smoothly than anything else. Mega Man is similar.

Eh, I feel that stage 5 and Creature & Igor are the real walls in the game. The last stage is only hard if RNG decides to fuck you up.
