I dint see why it wouldnt. The thing only requires the SNES for power and av out. All the hardware on it are actual Gameboy.

I don't know but the original super gameboy can be modded to the correct speed by changing the crystal oscillator. You don't have to get a Japanese only Super Gameboy 2 to have the correct speed.
